CECILY STIBITZ

Residing on the island of Martha's Vineyard since the mid 1980's, Cecily discovered the little known art of "Floorcloth" making in her exploration of decorative painting. A fine art background lent the skill and craftsmanship necessary to produce a high quality floorcloth of stylish design and heirloom longevity. On Martha's Vineyard, you will find her exhibiting her latest work every week at the island's premier indoor/outdoor open market, the Vineyard Artisan's Festival. Here she shows a variety of designs that can be customized to your interior with color, size, and shape.

Cecily"s floorcloths are made of sturdy 18 oz. canvas, layers of paint and a variety of stencils, that defy the colonial era history with a contemporary design flair. Multiple layers of marine grade poly sealant are applied to protect the surface of the rug for many years of function. The area at the kitchen sink is the most common choice for a floorcloth, but their durable beauty also makes them a great fit for powder rooms, hallways, door steps, even large scale living areas. These rugs are backed with a non-skid surface to insure they do not slide once they are in place. Their stunning beauty and low maintenance qualities make them an appealing solution for maximizing surface protection and your homes decorative character.
